Community input
The Facilities Survey
Before you start: what we are asking, why we are asking it, and what happens to your answers.
Why the District is collecting this
The Facilities Master Plan is built on assessment data — condition, age, cost, capacity. That data describes buildings well and describes experience poorly. It cannot tell the District which classrooms are too hot by second period, which restrooms families avoid, or which arrival routes feel unsafe.
Community and District input is one of the six factors used to prioritize projects, and this survey is how that factor is measured. Results are reported campus by campus, which means your answers affect the ranking of work at your school specifically, not just a Districtwide average.
What the survey asks about
- Your school, and your relationship to it
- Classroom comfort — temperature, lighting, noise
- Restrooms, drinking water and food service spaces
- Safety and security, including arrival and dismissal
- Outdoor space, play structures and fields
- Technology and whether spaces support how the school teaches
- The one thing you would fix first
What happens to your answers
Responses are collected anonymously and aggregated by campus before they are reported. Individual responses are not published, and free-text comments are reviewed and summarized rather than reproduced. Results feed the community-input factor on the How Projects Are Prioritized page.
